A faded LCD display screen with poor contrast that cannot be adjusted is likely the result of damaged optical films on the display. Environments with high heat and humidity, such as found in the tropics, is a know cause of this problem. The display assembly must be serviced.
A MegOhmMeter that cannot be calibrated indicates a problem with the internal feedback circuits or the main processor and related circuitry. The unit must be serviced before calibration can be done.
