Black horizontal lines indicate a defect in the LCD module itself and not a problem with the unit's motherboard. Do not attempt to open the LCD module and repair it! Repair attempts usually result in breaking the LCD or making the problem worse.
If the scope turns on then shuts back off, try disconnecting the battery and powering the unit from the charger adapter alone. If it powers on, the battery is likely defective and should be replaced. If the scope still turns off, further diagnosis and repair is necessary.
If the meter channel works but one or both of the scope input channels do not work, there is a problem with the channel conditioning and control circuit(s). Professional repair is required.
Calibration errors indicate a general fault with the channel being calibrated (e.g. A, B or Meter). Confirm the input is correct and attempt calibration again. If the failure persists, the unit must be serviced.
